so it lands on you or on that one hot guy that you like(The guy I liked wasnt even hot... I really dont know what I was thinking.) They invited you to play, you have no idea whats going to happen except for what you know according to TV shows such as Full House, Clarissa explains it all, Sabrina, Saved by the Bell(all the hot shows from the 90s.) People spin the bottle and it lands on someone who you have to kiss. Simple, right?
It definitely was not. It was a group of almost 20, most of my 5th grade class and this was how they passed the lunch period to keep from feeling bored. At the time, I was in my awkward stage and I didnt feel pretty or liked or wanted. This game changed my perspective on that for my junior high school years.
I remember us on the lunch table. A white lunch table, long with two rows on each side, meant to fit a class of kids. Everyone was spinning, it was yet my turn and I was just bored at this point. I started talking to my friends and didnt care anymore for the game. Just when I forgot all about it, the bottle(actually it was a can, i believe. We couldnt bring bottles to school.) landed on me... I looked up and it was the same guy I was crushing on in this class.
"Great." I mumbled.
"What do I do now?" was my next thought. After watching everyone for a few minutes earlier, I figured I would just pucker and move my lips to his. Just when I leaned up, it was over. I remember the relief when he grazed my lips and moved away. THANK GOD!
It was time for us to go and I couldnt believe the butterflies. The fluttering in my stomach was nauseating. I didn't like it. His lips were chapped and I felt wrong. I shouldn't have done it. My friend asked me if I was okay and I lied telling her I was. I remember thinking I had wasted my first kiss on someone who wasnt special. I remember thinking I should have waited. I knew from then on, kisses were intimate and should be saved. HA! If only I remembered that for later...
Steph Faris gave me the great idea to recount all my first kisses...and after contemplating how I should go about with my little miniseries, I decided to write in terms of different types of kissing. This was a recount of my first tap or peck kiss. In my next blog, I will write about my first tongue kiss.

What a great story! Thank you for doing this. I'm thinking about doing a group writing challenge like this every Thursday.
Ohhh that sounds like so much fun! I would love to join in on that, Steph. Anything to improve my writing.
Thanks for the comments! =)
Hi Angeli,
What a story. :-) I never played that game but looking back, yuck on kissing in fifth grade. LOL We were so young.
I'm looking forward to the next story! :)
Spin the Bottle is how I got my first kiss, too, and I felt the same was about it as you did!
Steph - PLEASE do the writing group! Thats one thing I miss about myspace blogging!!
Jen, I think a lot of people lose their kissing virginity(lol) that way. Id hope to tell my kids (when I have some) to wait until they are ready and when they're with someone special. Its not worth trying to fit in. It really isnt.
Lmfao. I remember those tables. Even though I was in Catholic school we still had those tables because the board of ed. gave it to my school as we received their lunch. Well the first kiss always turn out to suck or be awkward. I wonder if he uses chapstick now
