Escapade Part 5

Like a thief in the night making its escape, I started my descent in the elevator towards my car hoping she would be deep enough in her sleep not to notice my departure. I started my car and sped my way out of town. I didn't want her to follow me or to see me leave. I was truly alone now.

Alone. Accompanied only by crickets, flies, mosquitoes and whatever else that lurked and lived in the woodlands I was driving through. I didn't know where I was headed at all and I wasn't planning on stopping anytime soon. Twelve hours later I came upon a dainty looking town. I was tired and needed to nap. I figured why not stop in town. Maybe they had some kind of inn. I stepped out of the car and the men at a nearby bar stopped their talking to gawk at me. I had changed to shorts at one of the gas stations to feel more comfortable. I forgot the impact my legs could have on some men. Okay, I lie. I like the effect I caused on most men due to my legs. My hair was down and I grabbed my lightest bag with a change of clothes. I walked into the Inn after walking past the men who were left with their jaws hanging, baffled at confident walk.

The lady at the counter with a nameplate that read "May" looked at my face then at my figure. I dont see what there was to look at but I guess she liked what she saw since she looked up with her eyes lit and smiled.

"May I help you?"
"Hi, May, how you doing? Do you have a room I could occupy for the next few days? I'm on a trip and need to relax."
"Yes, sure. How big would you like the room?"

I looked around and realized it was much bigger than it appeared on the outside and tried to think of how big the rooms must be.

"How much is your biggest room?" I firmly asked.
"Fifty dollars ma'am."
"Excuse me?"
She repeated the price.

Shocked at the price per night, I took it happily. She showed me the way and opened the door to a marvelous room. Orange, bright, huge windows overlooking the woods and a little lake nearby. I locked the door with the bolt and settled onto the bed. I turned on the TV and contemplated checking on Ana and my parents. I even contemplated going back.

I didnt. I started thinking about everything I left behind and teared away. I didn't want that life anymore. I wanted something brand new. After analyzing what had been for what felt like hours, I dozed off.

When I woke up, I had the brightest idea. Vegas. Where else to start a new life? A new kind of life. I thought about the opportunities and the fun behind it. The more I thought about it, the more appealing it seemed. I was definitely going to like this. I had things I needed to do in town but then once I was done, I would be long gone and Vegas... HERE I COME!
