My trip to PR

So I landed friday morning. Immediately, I was pissed off. I couldn't sleep in MY damn room. Why offer me a room and then I can't sleep in it? My gramma set it up for my parents to sleep in my preferred room. FML. I sucked it up and ranted on twitter till I fell asleep. I slept 3 hours and spent some time with Gramma who cooked some hash browns for me, fattening me up as usual. I ate and ran around the house, enjoying the atmosphere. Think of me as a hyper 5 year old who can't get in any trouble. My cousin, L, came over to pick my stepsister and me up. We went to the beach. Oh, the water was so nice but hella SALTY. I forgot how nasty the water can get when out of season. Yes, people, there are seasons for these things even in tropical places. L offered to go to the river. Now THAT was fun. Lol! My ass had to be a monkey. My stepsister, D, grew up in the country so she's used to it. Ima city girl with a country heart. I was aching all over knowing that I wanted to go up the river. I'm a very determined person when it comes to hiking and water related activities. This is where I realized I am way too heavy and can barely sustain my weight anymore. Something that used to be so easy became a damn chore. I was so damn tired. Swimming upstream wasn't the problem. It was the rock climbing on sun heated, spiked and pointy rocks. Ugh. My feet. They still hurt at the mere thought of the abuse I put them through. Anywho, we stayed there awhile when L decides to mention pork.

(In Spanish)
Me: "Too bad we don't have enough time to get 'uncle' to cook a pig."
L: "But you don't need 'uncle' to cook the pig for you to eat"
Me: "How you figure? I'm in the mood for pork rinds."
L: "We could go to Guavate and eat."

Ka-ching!!! Bingo! Pork and off we went!
On our road trip, we got some quenepas ("quenips" in English) They were so yummy. Out of season, but yummy. We got to Guavate, ate, (I drank) and we left again. We went to what is known as "La Guancha." Nightlife galore. Drinks, food, dancing. Its the equivalent of Disney's citywalk or NYC's southstreet seaport (but better =) )
Then after more drinking, we headed to La Parguera. On our way there, we got stopped by the cops with a gun in the car and L and me all liquored up. Aint that fucking great? Thank God, the guy knew my cuz and "let us by." We had to wait a little longer cause of the blockade in front of us. Since it was a checkpoint, there was a bunch of cars in front of us. So once we got to go, we headed straight to "La Parguera" then to "El Malecon." The night ended and L dropped us off at my Gramma's. D and me slept and chilled the next day before the wedding. We went with my mom to get our hair "did". Geez. Never again will I do my hair at a salon over there. If it aint my cousins, it aint worth it. Seriously. So we did our hair and went back to my Gramma's to get ready for the wedding. I got all ready and makeup'd (hehe I looked "beautiful") and left. As we were leaving, my Gramma's house which is in a private zoning area, the front entrance to her "urbanizacion", there was a drive-by shooting and the car involved apparently spun out into the house that's in the entrance and from the impact, hit the pole behind it. Since we were on our way to the wedding, I saw clearly the guy when he was bloodied up and arrested. His "thing" was hanging out too. Eww. Bloodied "thing".(Medieval lit class reference lol! Xmon perverts you know the pun)

Anywho...
The wedding.

Shortest wedding ever!!! Homegirl had no doubts. (Good!!!) Her family sucks though, my family were the life of the party/reception. I barely danced though, I started the train(lol!!!), and I drank. A lot. Which brings me to my new drink. Soooo yummy.

43. Milk. Whipped cream. 2 cherries. Mmm. Soooo yummy.

I'm hooked. Lol. So eventually the night finished, I had a good time. Can't complain. Spent time with my family and it was all good. The night ended with me in bed, butt washed, under the covers...
The next morning... I woke up at 7:30. Why was I awake so early I don't know. So I rolled over and tried to sleep. Slept till 9:30. Woke up and played on facebook, answering messages and what not till 10ish that my uncle finally got there. My uncle got there with his wife and 2 kids. Little monsters. Can't stay still for nothing. I love them though. I miss my uncle like crazy. He needs to move back to the city. Lol. Eventually they left and we went to visit my mothers family in the countryside. I took my sister to near the top and was collecting flowers. Saw a few of my aunts, then went with L and D to go run errands and pickup a few things for my mother.
After picking up the goodies, we went to my grandfather's house and chilled there for awhile and finished my night off at my other aunt's house. (Despite that [technically] speaking im an only child, I have a HUGE family. My mom's number 10 out of 13 and my dad's the middle child of 3. My paternal grandfather is the middle child of 7 and my maternal grandfather is the baby of 13 while my paternal grandmother is some number out of 10 [or something like that...]) ANYWHO I wont get into family dynamics. Its a huge twist and turn. We then got back to my grandmother's and packed ourselves up to leave a few hours later.

With the flooding and the pouring rain, it seemed like we'd never get to the airport but eventually we got there, left on time, and got to JFK in one piece. The end. LOL

How was your weekend??!

sounds like you had a great weekend in PR. I speak Spanish, but I didn't know the meaning of the names of the places you mentioned. Must be PR slang. You know, each Latin country has its own slang.
