So this post came up because my lovely dear blog buddy LLuvia (Yeah i know im always shouting you out, its cause I love u, LOL), her post was on a scary memory where she remembered a commercial which might have saved her then 7 year old life. ... Go read the post: click here
So anyway, she mentions the commercials and I remembered about the commercials that were playing while I was growing up. The ones I remember most are the Say No to Drugs and Smoky Bear dude. Mind you, these commercials played at least twice every break. -_- Bummer.
(Im looking for a commercial video from Smokey to share from youtube... AND GEEZ!!! There are so many! Some dating back into the 60s.) Instead, I found the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Tips. LOL I used to love those. Here's one: Click here to watch
(Reminder to self: relearn how to post a video...)
Then there were the DARE programs and a whole bunch of other crap which just distracted us from class and made no sense to spend time doing. To be honest, I might be one of VERY FEW folks who hasn't smoked and it wasn't cause of the DARE program or Say No to Drugs commercials. It was personal choice. So I was just wondering... Who actually had an effect with these commercials? Is there any commercial that made you remember that you had a moral choice? The fact that there is a choice???
I think these days... which kind of bothers me... there are barely any of these commercials and if there are, they are far and few in between. The last one I remember watching must have been a STD related commercial. Like get tested or wear a condom. Something like that. Tell me... What do you think?
