So it's 2010 now and we are all here; some happy, some sad, and mostly just trying to live.
10 years have passed since we were worried about Y2K, technology has grown even more advanced, everyone texts, everyone owns an ipod. (What an awful generalization, huh?)
2000 was interesting. I graduated from elementary school and went to the JHS the following fall. Y2K was no longer a scare but having Bush Jr as president damn sure was!
2001, the US was attacked by Al-quaeda on 9/11. That is probably the most memorable thing that year. Flights were shutdown. NYC shut down.
2003, I graduated JHS and entered HS, catholic school at that, the following fall.
2006, Kind of started college. Sucky junior year too...
2007, I graduated HS!
2008, we entered into a recession. My dad lost his job along with thousands of other folk. This was a horrible year for me, personally.
2009, i dont even know how to explain... Another sucky junior year... LOL
So what I would like for you fellow readers and bloggers to do is to drop random things that happened throughout the decade. Sounds like fun, right? Besides, I like trivia. So the weirder, the better!
Ill start with randomly putting a fact from each year of the decade....
2000- Charles Schulz died. Yup, the guy who created the Peanuts comic strip!
2001- I kinda said this already. 9/11 'nuff said.
2002- Spiderman was the years top grossing blockbuster.
2003- Pirates of the Caribbean and Finding Nemo. =)
2004- Scientists created two new chemical elements, named Ununtrium (Element 113) and Ununpentium (Element 115). More chemicals to remember on the Periodic table.
2005- Pope John Paul II dies and we get a new pope. Richard Pryor died.
2006- Ex-President Gerald Ford dies. James Brown and Joseph Barbera too. (Do you know who that is???)
2007- The U.S. begins its "surge" of some 30,000 troops to Iraq to stem increasingly deadly attacks by insurgents and militias. Conclusion: Bush is a dick.
2008- President Obama Aka 1st black president elected president.
2009- Tiger Woods is a cheating husband and a ladies' man! Woo Woo!
