So obviously most of you know that AngeliStarr Martinez is NOT my name. It is a pseudonym I adopted for 9 or 10 years this thursday. I'm not sure which year it was. It actually started because I needed a new screenname different from my mothers. We all used the same screenname on AOL and now that I was in JHS, I wanted one of my own. I liked the name Angel and Starr so I put them together but I didnt like the way it sounded so I put AngeliStarr.
The beginning and coming of is simple, not so much what it has been used for.
Once I started talking to people on AIM, I started playing AOL games (which is now pogo.com), where the screenname served as the user ID for it also, I created a life.
I was only 12 years old playing in the older rooms where I soon became a regular. AND trust me these rooms had regulars and cliques! It was cyber HS. So I was 12 years old, playing different games(I dont remember what were the games.)
The story was that I was a single 16 year old mom with a 2 yr old daughter who I called Angie. (I know terrible huh?) I made some real good friends in those rooms despite me lying my ass off. There was a guy who I helped "come out the closet." Another who I was technically dating who was 17 and had a son of his own. I actually wonder whats up with those boys. The gay one, I found on facebook, but wont add him because he wont know me by my real name. The other, last I heard, was suicidal and having trouble keeping his kid around.
That was only one aspect of my web-life and that was the broad and complex one. Here are some of the more simpler ones:
-Regular AOL chatrooms: I actually had an internet boyfriend who I spoke to constantly who introduced me to the world opf cyber sex. WOW is all I could say. Its funny remembering this having been the fad in those days. I used the above identity to him.
-Kid AOL chatrooms: Another "boyfriend." Yet, this one we would just talk on instant messenger about regular stuff like cartoons and sports and movies. This boyfriend also knew me as Angeli but actually knew my age.
-Xanga: another alternate universe. Oh, how I endured boredom!
These were the main alternate universes to my life. Something that continued from the time I was 11 to about the age of 15. I am so glad its over. LOL. I miss the gay guy tho. He was awesome people.
Have you ever found yourselves changing your identity on the internet?

No, I haven't done that before. Yikes. Cyber sex? I have to ask (and I hope it doesn't make you mad) but where were your parents? That's some dangerous stuff there.
Thanks for explaining your name. Very creative and pretty.
You should friend the gay guy. You were really young and I think he'd be okay with it. Just tell him the truth. :-)
